The breakdown of each engine is shown below, but before we do this we can only keep our prices low if we take your old engine in exchange, if you do not have one, or any main part of the supplier core unit is damaged such as cracked heads or worn out cams / cranks or blocks with serious wall damage, we reserve the right to levy an extra charge on the components that are not serviceable. We can supply a Brand New Ford unit but please contact us first as the market cost does change.

What is the Core Exchange?

The Pumaspeed Red Top Engine program works on an exhange basis, much like our hybrid turbos. Due to the spec of the engine being based around the stock Ford architecture including stock Ford block and stock Ford head, we require a good condition non cracked block and head in return to ensure we can recondition them ready for the next customer.

This can be sent before we ship your Red Top engine out so you do not pay the core exchange charge out right. You can choose to send your stock engine after you receive your Red Top, upon return of a good engine block and head we then refund the core exchange fee. 

Alternatively if you wish to keep your stock engine, or you do not have a good condition engine to return to us, you can simply pay the additional core exchange for us to source a good stock engine on your behalf. 

What is included in the Package?

You get a completely assembled engine with choice of OE Head or Ported / Gas Flowed Head. You get everything from Sump to Cam Cover. All that will be required is for you to move the engine ancillaries such as Sensors, Injectors, Alternator, Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor, Valve Control Solenoids, High Pressure Fuel Pump,  Vacuum Pump, and all accessories. As this is a full unit, every part from your car will bolt directly on from whichever model you have in which ever country you are situated. Our Engine builders have been building units to exacting specifications for many years, all tolerances are checked and optimised to the lowest possible settings. The Tappet Shims in the Cylinder Heads for instance are set to the tightest Ford Specification and therefore the motors run very quietly and efficiently.

 

Type 1 Red Top  300-350whp

The Type 1 engine is for the customer looking to upgrade their stock engine with one that can handle from Stock 200 bhp to the abuse of Hybrid Turbo or GTX. This engine is intended for use up to 350hp to the wheels and 7250rpm rev limit. A fantastic choice for those with an engine failure who are looking to get back up and running and never suffer with a premature failure again!

Type 2 Blue Top 350-400whp

The Type 2 engine is for the customer looking to upgrade their stock engine with one that can handle up to 400whp and beyond. From Giant G25-550 turbo Builds and extra fuel systems This engine is intended for use over 400bhp to the wheels and 8000rpm rev limit. A fantastic choice for those involved in motorsports with a real need for power and reliability.

Type 3 Race Blue Top 400-450 whp

The Type 3 engine is the ultimate power unit for the EcoBoost owner, similar to the above Blue Top, but with brand new thick rimmed Ductile Iron Liners that can withstand power levels of well over 500whp. The blocks go through a very lengthy and precise CNC machining process to create what we believe to be the very strongest 1.6 ecoboost unit available to date.

There are many options to choose from such as Cams and Head Porting and Valve Springs, so which ever turbo you select we feel you would never be dissapointed with this motor. We can tailor the motor with different porting options and different Camshaft profiles to enhance any Turbo and Manifold combination. This engine is intended for use up to 450hp to the wheels and 8500rpm rev limit. A fantastic choice for those involved in the top end of motorsports with a need for ultimate Liner and Block reliability.
