PUMASPEED - The Home of Puma mHEV Tuning and Parts
Pumaspeed was founded back in 1999 and began by tuning the original Ford Puma small 2 door sports car. Since then car trends have completely switched and small coupes have been massively outsold by small SUVs.
In 2020 Ford resurrected the Puma name as an all new small high tech hybrid SUV, entering themselves into a fantastic market.
Some will hate the new design and direction for the Puma name but we see this as a fantastic step forward for technology and innovation.
The most interesting of the new powertrains fitted to the new Puma is the mild hybrid setup mated to the all new 1.0l EcoBoost engine. With up to 155ps available out of the box, this new mild hybrid tech is something we were eager to get our hands on and find it's true capabilities.
We purchased one of the 'first edition' Puma 125ps models as soon as they were available in the country and quickly got cracking on remapping the brand new ECU protocols that control the engine and hybrid systems. After around 6 months of real world driving, testing and development we achieved up to 165bhp and 280nm on 99 ron fuel, huge increases over the stock figures as you can see below!
